A hundred times a year aggression against staff registration centers

Between 2012 and this year there were 300 cases of aggression against staff in the application centers in Ter Apel, Den Bosch, Arnhem and Apeldoorn.
Staff application centers has structurally confronted with violence of asylum seekers. This appears according to the Times of internal reports, which the newspaper has understood by invoking the Freedom of Information Act. It involves harassment, verbal abuse, threats and physical violence.
Between 2012 and this year there were 300 cases of aggression against staff in the application centers in Ter Apel, Den Bosch, Arnhem and Apeldoorn.
The actual number of incidents is probably higher because of incidents in the application center at Schiphol are not counted and not all incidents reported by IND staff.
Small percentage
Refugees calls it sad that IND staff are faced with aggression. However, the federation that it is relatively bad. "It's about a hundred cases per year. At 22,000 people applied for asylum in 2014, is that a very small percentage," says a spokesman for Refugees in the Volkskrant.
