Cabinet seeks UN tribunal for perpetrators MH17

The government wants a UN tribunal to try the perpetrators responsible for the downing of flight MH17. That made Prime Minister Mark Rutte said Friday in his weekly press conference after the cabinet meeting.

Rutte ,, can not say with certainty '' whether there is support for such a tribunal in the UN Security Council. Rutte did not comment on whether the tribunal should be in the Netherlands. Koenders
After the cabinet meeting on Friday, said Mr Koenders already an international UN tribunal ,, a very important option '' for the government. The Minister of Foreign Affairs did not previously so outspoken about a possible tribunal.
 
Russia
Russia seems to feel little for this choice. The deputy head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Gennady Gatilov, said of the tribunal: ,, We have a negative view. We think this idea is premature and counterproductive. '' Russia is a permanent member of the Security Council and have veto power.
