'Concerned citizen' does call for Wilders
A remarkable ad on the front page of the Volkskrant this morning:
"Dear Mr Wilders. If you really think of Netherlands, will you work with others. And do not try to divide Netherlands, by just saying how it should not. Rob Geurst (non-party concerned citizen)."
The initiator, a contractor from The Hague after years even found time for action. "If you go into politics, your goal is still to Dutch citizens as well as possible to do that? For that you need to work together. I now hear for years just much ado about what not to do," Geurst said in NIS Radio 1 News.
Geurst emphasizes that he has no further intention with the ad. "Perhaps this is actually the surrender of my own conscience. I just hope I performer of many others believe this."
Anonymous
He has thought about whether his name was bound to put the ad. "But I thought it cowardly to put on no name. It is enough anonymously called. Of course I'll get reactions, both positive and negative."
De Volkskrant is the only daily newspaper in which the advertisement is put. It cost Geurst 1200 euros. He also approached De Telegraaf, but the amount that was requested there (6000 euros) the contractor was too high.
