Distance to doctor grown slightly

This distance has increased slightly since 2007, when it was still an average of 900 meters. In 43 municipalities, the journey to the nearest GP practice has increased.
Dutch lived last year on average one kilometer from a GP.

Municipalities
Residents in the northeast of the country have the longest trip to a doctor. Yet it is the municipality with the greatest distance in the northwest of the Netherlands, namely the North Holland Schermer. There, the average distance is 2.9 kilometers.
Also on Texel (2.7 kilometers) in Midden-Drenthe (2.5) and Aa en Hunze (2.4) the distance is great. Schiermonnikoog is a GP on average 400 meters from home. In the big cities of Amsterdam, The Hague and Leiden, but people need to travel 500 meters to a practice.
Since not everyone goes to the nearest practice, the distance really is even slightly larger.
