Lightning Victims Amersfoort two women aged 20
The two fatalities from a lightning strike in Amersfoort this afternoon, two women of 20 years in that city. The Utrecht police reports via Twitter.
The duo took shelter under a tree before the storm this afternoon and then was hit by lightning. Police found them sitting on. Of the affected tree is a large piece broken off. The identity of the two could be a long time not been established. Bystanders who saw how the women were hit are caught by the police.
NOS presenter Jeroen Stomphorst lives near the park Randenbroek and let his employer know to have heard the blow. "The storm was not so bad, but the lightning was heard clearly, I looked for a while on. And then two deaths, that's a shock."
