Professor Bob Smal Wood is deceased at the age of 87. De Telegraaf, which Smalhout years had a column, made around 04.30 known that he was an hour earlier deceased in his home in Bosch en Duin in Utrecht.

"His death is a great loss for this newspaper, also in personal terms for editors and editors," can be read on the newspaper's website. "More than twenty years, wrote Professor Smalhout for De Telegraaf weekly columns about social events that touched him were angry or was touched."

Wood was narrow in 1972 in one fell swoop famous when he was appointed as professor at the University of Utrecht. LPF

In 1992 he retired as a professor. Two years later he began his column on the cutting edge in De Telegraaf. Despite deteriorating health, he continued to write until his death; the final text of Smalhout was late last month in the newspaper.

In 2003 Smalhout leader for the LPF in the Upper House elections. He eventually took no seat in parliament because he had to give up his column in the newspaper.
