Russia denounces Dutch MH17 research
A week after the Russian veto on the MH17 Tribunal, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov to the Dutch inquiry into the air crash sharply criticized. That would slow ,, and flawed '' are. The tribunal would have been just a way to distract from the faulty research.
According to Lavrov, Russia has presented to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to appoint a special envoy MH17. Which should monitor the progress of the MH17 research.
He also should get a mandate to send a mission to the area. "These proposals were blocked by the countries who insist on the establishment of a tribunal," said Lavrov on the sidelines of an international conference in Malaysia.
Not the appropriate forum
According to Lavrov, the UN Security Council is not the proper forum for those responsible for the disaster to punish. For that there are other possibilities.
,, The obsession with the Security Council suggests to me that some people propaganda play games because they do not answer the question of why the research is so slow and so flawed, '' said the minister.
The disaster of flight MH17 ended last summer in eastern Ukraine with the death of many Dutch.
