Sailing Rules SAIL, bit order (and a giveaway!)
The IJ during SAIL 2015 busier than ever. Therefore SAIL Amsterdam has the necessary navigation rules created.
Long procession
Six hundred ships, accompanied by - as the organization expects - thousands of pleasure craft do Amsterdam on Wednesday as the start of SAIL 2015. From the North Sea are the hundreds of invited sights in a long procession during a SAIL-In Parade towards the capital. For five days, it will be a hive of activity on the IJ and the North Sea. Therefore set to Sunday different operating rules. Simple, says SAIL: ,, So the shipping can run safely and smoothly. "
Having a SAIL-flag on the boat is important. Is your vessel up to 15 meters (and have up to twelve people on board) then you pay 54,50 euro, your boat longer than 15 meters or you have more than twelve passengers then pull 99.50 euros from the cut. With those sums support your future SAILS also again, as the organization says. Registration is required.
OBSTRUCTIONS
Not only the flag and registration this week a law on Amsterdam's waterways. There is a block of power for commercial vessels during the SAIL-IN Parade and during the departure of the vessels (Thank You Parade) at the IJ and the North Sea.
No matter how busy it can be on the water during SAIL? Well so:
Another rule is a prohibition between tall ships and sail through the banks. During the SAIL-In must not be louder danger than 6 kilometers per hour, during the Thank You Parade is the speed limit 10 per hour. There is also a variety of places one-way traffic. Sailing, rowing, jet skiing and suppen are expressly prohibited. Music installations on board must not cause nuisance and open fire on board and boating under the influence is strictly prohibited.
AIL gives boaters with the necessary tips. Hands and feet inboard "is one of them. But also keep waste on board, do not take too many people with you on your craft, your child draw a life jacket and keep the weather in mind. Warm clothes and a bottle of water on board never hurts.
