Eventually it comes to 4,000 new teachers. It's in the strategic agenda for higher education Education Minister Jet Bussemaker presents Tuesday. That reports De Volkskrant.
The bulk of the money released by the introduction of the loan scheme for students, will be invested in additional teachers at colleges and universities.

Smaller and more intense
According to the agenda, the investment must ensure that education is smaller and more intensive. Eventually, more than four thousand new teachers are recruited.
Through scholarships replacing loans savings in the long term 620 million. How students would benefit from that money, long remained unclear, but is now on the table.
Professors at universities should take besides education seriously. According Bussemakerhuis education must obtain a fully fledged place alongside research. The PvdA minister therefore wants it to be possible to make a career as a teacher at a university, not only as a researcher.
DISTINCTIVE
Furthermore, new teachers need much more about talking with students. According Bussemakerhuis the focus in higher education far too much on transmitting knowledge, whereas it should be a place where the person is developed. The minister wants to make quality agreements with all colleges and universities separately. They have to stand out more.
Finally, the PvdA wants no experiments come with higher tuition fees for programs of excellence. The party fears that these projects will soon be reserved only for the rich. Bussemakerhuis therefore decided to use the money from the feudal system to pay the talent programs.
