By: Menno van Dongen It should be a nice farewell, but it was a painful spectacle. Jack van Gelder Friday ran away from his uitzwaaiuitzending 'NPO Radio 1. Just before he would sit in the studio, he left the building. "See it with your broadcast," he commented.

Jack van Gelder. The program There goes-he was spiced with the election of the best radio clip of Van Gelder. Listeners chose his commentary on the goal by Dennis Bergkamp against Argentina at the World Cup in 1998. That is the essence no more than the repetition of the name of the scorer, his voice breaking.

Studio Guest Johan Derksen said that he finds it more comfortable if his colleagues with the handbrake on 'reports. He was supported by Kees Jansma, who argued that Van Gelder had failed to describe the goal. Ben de Graaf, until mid-nineties, a sports journalist for the Times, went a step further: "I do not like that hysterical screams."
